Where La Cappella is

Wherever tonal, vocal, staging, and language challenges appear, that is where La Cappella is. Director Karin Eklundh pilots the choir through widely disparate musical genres. From newly composed art music to heartfelt Swedish folk music.

Through many collaborative projects, the choir has also been a co-creator, premiering several works, including the pioneering production Till ängeln med de brinnande händerna (To the Angel with the Burning Hands) with music by Karin Rehnqvist.

The choir performs primarily a cappella but also works with various musicians and orchestras.

The exploration and expansion of the voice across its entire register and the discovery of new and exciting female-voice repertoire are at the core of what drives La Cappella.
